Sound like half the entries in your yearbook? Well, it's also my quest with this 5K training!
Yesterday I was able to run slowly for a good enough length of time on the treadmill. Today I could only run slowly for a shorter time, but I don't think it was because I was particularly tired... I think it was because I was too hot!
I don't want sweat and heat to hold me back from progress. So, I ask of you, what strategies do you employ to keep cool while working out (in addition to rescuing poor, defenseless shopping carts)?
Okay, doing my bootcamp at the beginning of the year, I had an epiphany! Someone was motivating us and said, "Sweat is fat, crying." Just remember that, and you will want to sweat so bad! It has changed my life. Suddenly, instead of working out only until I break a small sweat, I want it pouring down from every pore! I promise, it makes the workouts more satisfying, and it all goes away in the shower regardless of how much comes out. So sweat it out!
ReplyDeleteI'm no expert, but I bet staying hydrated is important. Keep a bottle of water with you or chew gum. Or drink a bunch an hour before. The treadmill might have a fan on it!
