Hello!!!  My exercise experience last night was more like a torture endurance.  But I ENDURED!!!  I only walked.

BUT, I did make a yummy granola recipe for Doug before he left.  Here's the recipe:

3 cups instant oatmeal
1/4 cup wheat germ (optional)
1/2 coconut
1/2 sunflower seeds (optional)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup water
scant 1/4 cup canola oil
1/2 cup raisins

In a large bowl, mix first six ingredients.  In a small pan, heat the honey and water.  When the honey is melted, add the oil.  Pour honey mixture evenly over the dry ingredients.  Mix it together until all ingredients are moist.  Spread evenly onto a large cookie sheet.  Bake at 350 for about 15 minutes.  Stir and bake another 5 minutes.  Your oven might be hotter, so keep an eye on it.  You might not need to cook it that long.  Just cook it until the top is golden brown and it feels dried out.  After it's finished baking, add the raisins.  XOX

  2. It only takes about 10 minutes to mix it up. Then another 15-20 to bake it. Truly. You just dump the stuff in the bowl while the honey is melting and then pour in the melted mixture and stir it up. Okay, you do need to chop the walnuts, but even they are optional.

  3. Okay, just for the record, I did my stability ball exercises this morning and I feel WONDERFUL! So, I think I've found exercising at 10 p.m. is probably not a great idea for me.

  5. Guys, this is Mom's REAL granola recipe from growing up. I make it a lot and it is both easy and scrumptious. Try it! I use wheat flour instead of wheat germ and think it's just fine. I think that was Mom's idea. It is just as quick as making muffins from scratch (minus the nut chopping). It is ready to go in the oven about the same time mine is finished preheating - truly 10 minutes. I melt my honey mixture at the end because it only takes a second on my stove.
